The Facebook Ticker Has Gone Missing

The ticker, if you’re unaware, is the panel that shows every piece of activity your Facebook friends are engaging in. It’s like the News Feed, if the News Feed actually showed you everything. That means status updates, comments friends have made on others’ posts, things they listened to on Spotify, things they have liked, etc. All in real time.

Facebook’s Embeddable Posts Go Live for Everyone

 

Facebook launched embeddable posts in beta back in July, but while the company was working out the kinks they only opened them up to a handful of publishers.
Starting today, all publishers can embed any public posts on Facebook. We’re talking statuses, photos, links, and videos.
Embedded Facebook posts can be liked or shared directly from the site in which they’re embedded, and the embedded posts also allows readers to like the poster’s page and follow other posts from the author with a click on the upper right-hand drop-down button.

Google gives Now a past, will remind you of things you wanted to do — and when the last bus leaves

 


Days after releasing new Google Now options that will drive monetization on Google Glass, Google announced updates for everyone else. Google Now on Android now includes cards for car rentals, concerts, movie reminders, and telling your spouse you just left work.
The cool ones are the ones that will actually save you time or help you in new ways.

Facebook Login accounts for 850M new app signups every month

 


Facebook Login is now used in 81 percent of iOS apps and 62 percent of Android apps. And with more than a billion users, Facebook itself is winning the identity war.
All that adds up to an awful lot of new account signups through Facebook Login.
As Facebook shared with us today, more than 850 million apps are downloaded each month with signups occurring through Facebook Login

Google Responds To #GoogleGate: AdWords Account Manager’s Accidental Voice Mail Recording




 

Presumably thinking he’d hung up, the account representative is heard cursing the fact that the client upgraded to enhanced campaigns without first speaking to him and that he’ll then have to “pitch call extensions and sitelinks” instead. He goes on to say he doesn’t care about  “those bridge pages or parked domains” the client apparently is using
